For Families on the Indiana Community Integration and Habilitation and Family Support Waivers

Virtual 5-week program, Starting September 14, 2022

Empact Parenting is a world-recognized comprehensive outcomes-based parenting program for families that have children with special needs and medical conditions. The Empact Parenting Basics program is an introduction to some of the parenting topics and tools that are typically included in Empact Parenting programs.

Topics included are -

  • parenting styles
  • "new normal"
  • dreams and visions
  • entitlement vs empowerment
  • feelings
  • managing undesirable behaviors (part 1 & 2)
  • elements of effective communication

This program is being hosted by Energizing & Empowering Minds.

This program consists of 5 weeks of content. Participants will be expected to complete about 30 minutes of homework each week. The peer-to-peer facilitated zoom sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings from 7-8P ET on September 14, 21, 28 and October 5, and 12.


PARENTS: Our Empact Parenting programs qualify as Family and Caregiver Training that is part of the Community Integration and Habilitation and Family Support Waivers or FCAR for the State of Indiana.

You do not have to pay out-of-pocket in advance for the program. Your waiver will be charged once the parenting program has completed based on its schedule. Since program participants receive access to hard-copy materials and all of the online content, this program is non-refundable.

Danna is a licensed clinical social worker with over four decades of experience working with families that have children with serious medical conditions and special needs. She founded the original Empact Parenting program over twenty years ago and launched the Energizing & Empowering Minds non-profit in 2016 to continue to ensure that parents have access to the support that they need. Danna retired from Children’s Hospital of Michigan and lives in Noblesville, Indiana. She is a mother of two daughters with six grandchildren. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family creating experiences and memories.
